Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, CERC, reserved admissibility, petition seeking tariff increase for 3,960 MW Tilaiya Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP).
The CERC bench comprising members M. Deena Dayalan and A.K. Singhal decided to hear the electricity buyers from the power station in Jharkhand.
The promoter of the UMPP Reliance Power has moved CERC seeking permission to increase tariff by citing reasons such as increase in the cost of land and increase in cost of resettlement and rehabilitation.
The CERC has not yet announced the date of next hearing.
