USFDA nod for Orchid's drug

Chennai-based pharma company Orchid Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals has announced that it has received approval from the US FDA for its abbreviated new drug application for Levofloxacin tablets in the 250 mg, 500 mg and 750 mg strength. Levofloxacin is used to treat severe bacterial infections. The company's shares dropped 0.17 per cent to end Thursday's trade at Rs 174 on the BSE.
