“The Fortuner and Legender remain a top choice among SUV enthusiasts who seek a perfect blend of luxury, performance, and reliability. Whether navigating city streets or tackling challenging terrains, it offers a premium feel paired with robust strength,” said Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

In April 2025, Toyota reported robust performance in the premium SUV segment, with its Fortuner and Legender models collectively selling 2,900 units—a 25 per cent year-on-year (9% y-o-y) increase. This surge reflects the growing appetite for high-end utility vehicles among Indian consumers.

Overall, Toyota’s total sales for the month stood at 24,789 units, significantly up from 18,676 units in April 2024, according to data from Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers.

The premium SUV category (vehicles priced above ₹30 lakh) saw total sales of 3,788 units across all brands during the same period. Competing in this space alongside Toyota are Skoda with its Kodiaq and Kia with the Carnival, both vying for market share in a segment that continues to expand steadily.
