American Express and Jet Airways have joined hands to launch India’s first of its kind airline co-branded corporate card –Jet Airways American Express Corporate Card-- for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and their employees.

This co-branded corporate card will help SMEs and their executives to drive substantial savings on business travel and associated expenses, Saru Kaushal, Country Business Head, Global Corporate Payments, American Express Banking Corp told Business Line here.

The savings could be earned in the form of JPMiles and corporate rebates on spend at the Taj Group of Hotels, she said.

In an environment where corporate India is poised for economic expansion and business travel is likely to increase, this co-branded corporate card could be a significant driver of savings, she added.

Any SME with an annual turnover of ₹ 5 crore or more can apply for this co-branded corporate card.

Kaushal said this co-branded Card allows SMEs to make the most of every business expense they incur on either travel or hotel or dining with business associates.

Expenses incurred in these categories earn rewards in the form of JP Miles – both for the company and the employee, which can be redeemed for air tickets.

Further, given that most SMEs have very few employees, they lose out the benefit of getting bulk discount deals from service providers – be it air carriers, hotel offers or dining discounts to do corporate business meetings.

The Jet Airways American Express Corporate Card allows SMEs to get accelerated rewards and also enjoy discounts on purchasing tickets from Jet Airways and also on Taj Group of hotels, making this a very attractive product, she added.

American Express and Jet Airways had earlier come together to offer a consumer card for individuals—American Express Jet Airways Platinum card.
