Bajaj Auto April sales fall 2% on lower exports

Bajaj Auto’s sales saw a 2 per cent decline during April to 3.30 lakh units versus 3.36 lakh units in the same month of last year.

The dip comes mainly on the back of lower exports which stood 36 per cent lower at nearly 1.04 lakh units against 1.62 lakh units in April 15. Commercial vehicle sales were also 24 per cent lower at 38,211 untis.

The only figures that were in the positive territory were motorcycle sales which grew by 2 per cent to 2.92 lakh units against 2.86 lakh units in the same period of last year.

On the BSE, the Bajaj Auto scrip was trading at Rs 2,482 per share, lower by Rs 2.60 apiece when the benchmark index had lost 177 points.
