Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL), which produces passenger vehicles for Renault and Nissan brands at Oragadam near Chennai, has appointed Biju Balendran as its MD and CEO.
Biju brings more than two decades of experience in automobile manufacturing in India and international markets.
He was the first employee to join RNAIPL in 2008 and has worked in various functions, including the Head of Stamping at the Nissan South Africa plant in Pretoria.
“Under the leadership of Biju, the manufacturing plant will serve as a key contributor to the growth of Nissan in India,” said Thomas Kuehl, MD, Nissan India.
Colin MacDonald, Balendran’s predecessor, will move on to a new role based in Europe, according to a statement.
Nissan India also announced that Sambath Kumar will be the CFO.
