Britannia net rises 25% for full year

Britannia Industries Ltd reported a 24.7 per cent increase in year-on-year net profit during FY 10-11. Net profit now stands at Rs 145 crore compared with Rs 116.5 crore of the previous fiscal.

Sales at Rs 4,213 crore (Rs 3,401 crore) went up by 23.8 per cent over previous year. Ms Vinita Bali, Managing Director, Britannia Industries Ltd, said, “We have maintained a healthy growth momentum and improved margins in a year of intense competitive activity and high commodity inflation.”

The company launched several new to market products such as ‘NutriChoice Diabetic Friendly', ‘Treat Choco-Decker', ‘Britannia Healthy Start' during the year to tap new opportunity segments, she added.

Consolidated revenues for the year ended 2011 stood at Rs 4,605 crore (Rs 3,771 crore) and net profit at Rs 134 crore, a growth of 30.2 per cent over the previous year.

The company declared a dividend of Rs 6.50 per share.
