Danish brewer Carlsberg is scouting for a site to set up one more brewery in India as it is close to its full capacity utilisation during the current summer months.

Carlsberg, a late entrant into India with its sales beginning in June 2007, now has five manufacturing units in the country. It has recently doubled the capacity to one million hectolitres at its manufacturing base located about 70 km from Hyderabad in Medak district.

Mr Soren Lauridsen, Managing Director of Carlsberg India, said, “The company is set to reach full capacity utilisation during the summer months. Therefore, we are looking at setting up another plant in India. However, we are yet to finalise the location.”

TUBORG IN NEW AVATAR

Mr Lauridsen, launched Tuborg, their fastest growing beer brand in a new avatar. The labelling has been innovatively done. When one consumes beer directly from the bottle at 62.5 degrees, that is the normal way of drinking, Tuborg title gets displayed perfectly.

The company is planning a series of marketing initiatives to promote the product.
