Cipla appoints Naina Lal Kidwai as independent director

Cipla has appointed Naina Lal Kidwai, outgoing Chairman of HSBC India, as an independent director on its board.

“We are delighted to have Ms Naina Lal Kidwai join the Board of Cipla. We will benefit immensely from her exemplary business leadership and corporate experience as Cipla evolves on its purpose driven mission to improve the lives of patients around the world,” Cipla Non-Executive Chairman Y K Hamied said.

Kidwai, an MBA from Harvard Business School(HBS), has received the Padma Shri Award in 2007 for her contribution to trade and industry.

She is a global advisor, HBS and Chairman of its South Asia Advisory Board, the drug firm said in a statement.

Kidwai has been a past President of FICCI and is Chairperson of the FICCI Water Mission, FICCI Inclusive Governance Council and the India Sanitation Coalition, it added.
