CLR Facility Services has secured $15 million in funding from British International Investment (BII), the UK’s development finance institution, to expand its integrated facility management operations across India. The Mumbai-based company announced the strategic partnership on Tuesday.
The investment will support CLR’s plan to more than double its workforce from 20,000 to 50,000 employees over the next five to seven years. The company provides cleaning, engineering, mechanical maintenance, and production support services to corporate clients across nine states.
BII’s funding will enable CLR to introduce up to 30,000 low-income workers to India’s formal economy, with particular focus on hiring women and underserved groups. The company currently employs 25 percent women in its workforce of 20,000 blue-collar workers.
Part of the investment will establish training centers in tier-2 cities to provide vocational training for unskilled and semi-skilled workers over five years. CLR also plans to enhance its environmental and social risk management processes and worker health and safety initiatives.
“This investment will empower us to create more opportunities for our workforce, drive innovation in facility management, and extend our impact across new markets,” said CLR’s promoters and directors Gaurav Pathak and Gautam Pathak.
Founded in 2002 in Pune, CLR serves over 160 clients and has received previous investment from First Bridge Investment Managers since 2018.
