‘Cocktail’ fetches Eros Rs 65 cr

The movie, which has grossed Rs 15 crore in three days, is rated No. 5 on the UK Box Office charts.

The Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer,  Cocktail , has grossed Rs 50 crore in India and another Rs 15 crore abroad, the movie’s producer, Eros International announced today.

However, even after the news broke out, the Eros International share, at Rs 174.40, was trading on the BSE Rs 3.80 lower than the previous close.

Cocktail has been directed by Homi Adajania and features debutante Diana Penty (and is not to be confused with the 1988 American movie of the same name, starring Tom Cruise.)

The movie, which has grossed Rs 15 crore in three days, is rated No. 5 on the UK Box Office charts. Eros International’s President – Marketing & Distribution, Mr Pranab Kapadia, has said in a press release that the movie is doing well in other territories such as UAE, Pakistan, Fiji, New Zealand and Singapore also.

Cocktail   is about the lives of three strangers in London who turn out to be best friends and start living together—until ‘love’ comes to town. The movie has been shot in London, says Eros.

Eros International, part of the Eros group, has been in the media business for the past 35 years. Today, it has a library of 1,100 films.

The company achieved a turnover of Rs 963 crore in 2011-12, on which it made a net profit of Rs 148 crore.
