Constantia Parikh announces Rs 100 cr plant in Gujarat

Constantia Parikh, an Indian arm of European packaging major Constantia Flexibles GmbH announced its plans to set up a greenfield project in flexible packaging with an investment of Rs 100 crore. The new unit will be setup at a cost of around Rs 100 crore to produce high barrier laminates that can be fully recycled and meet the requirements of upcoming legislation on food and home & personal care packaging sector.

The plant will house the latest machinery to manufacture sustainable packaging. The project is aimed at supporting Swachh Bharat Mission, a statement informed here. The new unit, expected to come on stream in 2019, will be equipped to comply with the upcoming Plastic Waste Management Regulations and meet the highest international environmental, hygiene and work safety standards.

Constantia Flexibles had acquired Gujarat-based Parikh Packaging Pvt Ltd in 2013, which provided packaging solutions to multinational and domestic FMCG players.
