Jamshed Naval Cooper, Director (Sales and Marketing), Heidelberg Cement India Ltd, has taken over as the Chief Operating Officer from June 4, 2014.
Cementrum I BV of Netherlands, the holding company of HCIL, has proposed the appointment of Cooper as Managing Director of the company with effect from July 1, 2014. The position is subject to the approval of the board of directors of HCIL.
Cooper is to succeed Ashish Guha, who had resigned from the position of CEO and Managing Director, but had acceded to continue in office till the appointment of a successor, at the request of the board of directors of Heidelberg.
