During the year ended March 31, 2011, Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea Ltd posted net sales of Rs 1,556.59 crore (Rs 1,140.10 crore), EBITDA of Rs 251.14 crore (Rs 169.28 crore) and profit before tax of Rs 194.11 crore (Rs 118.10 crore), according to a company release.
Earnings per share for the year worked out to Rs 36.35 after providing for deferred tax of Rs 28.84 crore.
The board of directors has recommended dividend of Rs 4.50 per equity share of Rs 10 each for the year as against Rs 4 for the year ended March 31, 2010, the release adds.
The profit on sale of investment during the year amounted to Rs 19.30 crore (Rs 1.68 crore).
The fixed assets, spares & raw materials amounting to Rs 64.63 crore was lost due to fire at the raw material stores at the Haldia plant.
A corresponding amount has been shown as income in respect of the insurance claim lodged with the insurance company.
