Durgapur Steel Plant (DSP) of SAIL said on Friday that it produced hot metal, crude steel and saleable more than its targets in April.
In these three production segments, it recorded a growth of four, six and one per cent, respectively, over the corresponding period last year, DSP said in a statement.
DSP’s April output of finished steel comprising structural products (angles, channels and joists), earthquake-resistant TMT bars, wheels & axles recorded a growth of 35 per cent.
“With the all-time best production performance in the previous financial year 2012-13, a new trend has been set in DSP,” said P.K. Singh, plant’s CEO. The production surpassed targets in major areas during April, was in sync with the strategy to sustain the improvements at the plant, he added.
