Ford India’s headquarters will soon be shifted to New Delhi. Mr Joseph R. Henrichs, President, Ford Asia Pacific and Africa, while addressing a press conference, said: “Ford India headquarters will be shifted to New Delhi and a new manufacturing plant will come up in West (Gujarat). This is part of our new India operations plan.”

The company’s Indian market share has nearly tripled in the last two years. From under 1 per cent in 2009 the market share is now at around 3 per cent.

“We plan to roll out eight new cars in India, by the middle of this decade. Most of these would be in the Figo range since small market is the growth area in India. Seventy per cent of car sales in India come from the small car segment and this number is only slated to grow,” he added.
