Geometric has signed an application maintenance contract with Volvo Cars, Sweden, covering applications like computer aided design (CAD) and product lifecycle management (PLM) landscape.
The company had been partnering with Volvo Cars for its global engineering and manufacturing needs since 2010, and has extended its application maintenance services (AMS) engagement to include additional CAD and PLM applications for new product development and manufacturing engineering, it said.
Geometric will deploy its application maintenance services framework, AMS4E based on 4E methodology. It will also leverage its understanding of Volvo’s product development IT landscape and experience in PLM, to support the company's new product development programmes.

In addition to application maintenance, Geometric works with Volvo across multiple projects related to the design and development of complex and large-scale CAD and PLM strategic initiatives, and provides offshore support through a dedicated delivery centre in Chennai.
