General Motors said on Thursday that it would increase the prices across all its models from October 1. However, it is yet to decide on the quantum of increase.

“We have decided to increase the prices of all models due to high input costs, currency fluctuation and freight costs,” P. Balendran, Vice-President, GM India, said.

GM follows car market leader Maruti Suzuki and Honda, both of which had announced a price increase earlier this week citing similar reasons. The rising cost of diesel fuel has led to higher transportation/logistics costs across the industry.

While Honda has increased the prices of the Brio, Jazz and City models by 0.2-2.6 per cent, Maruti said it will follow within a week.
