“The company has signed contract for construction and delivery of second ship from series of the four additional vessel 7,500 DWT Multi-Purpose Vessels (MPV) on December 4 in Hamburg, Germany. The contracts for the remaining two vessels will be communicated as and when the respective contracts signed,” GRSE said in a stock exchange filing.

Notably, the company signed a contract with Carsten Rehder Schiffsmakler and Reederei GmbH & Co, KG Germany, on June 22 for construction and delivery of MPVs, with an option of building another four ships in near future.

Deliver 4 MPVs

GRSE in September said it received a confirmation from the customer to buy and deliver additional four MPVs on the existing terms and conditions.

The company had informed that contract size for the additional four vessels would be around $54 million. “The total value would be about $108 million for eight vessels,” it added. The contract is to be executed within 33 months from the date of the signing of the contract.

Meanwhile, GRSE has formally handed over the “Jaldoot” Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) to Naval Science and Technological Laboratory (NSTL) in Visakhapatnam, marking an important milestone for indigenous autonomous vessel technology.

“This achievement is testament to the joint R&D efforts of GRSE and NSTL/DRDO in developing in-house expertise as well as leveraging the strengths of indigenous start-ups. An Indian technology start-up partner Rekise Marine has been nurtured in the design and development of Jaldoot,” according to a release.
