Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd has said that the company is awaiting details of the order passed by the Competition Commission of India on a petition filed by Coal India Ltd where a penalty has been imposed.
In a statement to the BSE, the company informed that it has come to know that the CCI has passed an order in a case filed by Coal India Ltd. In this case, Gulf Oil is one of the opposite parties.
The Commission is stated to have imposed some penalty on the company for certain dealings with Coal India during 2010. The company is awaiting certified copies of the order passed by the Commission.
In the meantime, it plans to initiate suitable legal steps to make necessary appeals and take other actions as may be advised.
