JLR starts assembling Jaguar XF in India

The vehicle, with an entry price of Rs 44.5 lakh, features a 2.2-litre diesel engine.

British car maker Jaguar Land Rover, owned by Tata Motors, has started assembling of its luxury saloon Jaguar XF in India.

The Jaguars will be assembled alongside Land Rover Freelander 2 vehicles which have been assembled in Pune since May 2011, the company said in a statement.

The vehicle, with an entry price of Rs 44.5 lakh, features a 2.2-litre diesel engine. It is coming to the Indian market for the first time. 

“Our best-selling models in India are the Land Rover Freelander 2 and the Jaguar XF and this has driven the move to build these products locally. The Jaguar XF has become very popular with our customers due to its sports car performance, outstanding luxury saloon elegance and contemporary individual styling,” said Jaguar Land Rover India Vice-President Rohit Suri.
