Tata Motors-owned luxury carmaker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has launched updated versions of its sports utility vehicle (SUV) Range Rover Evoque in India, with prices starting from ₹47.1 lakh (ex-showroom, pre-octroi in Mumbai).
“Evoque has been a successful model, and now with the refreshed variants we expect to surpass the earlier ones sales in India over a period of time,” JLR India President Rohit Suri said on the sidelines of the launch function in Mumbai.
The company had launched Evoque in 2012 and has sold more than 2,000 till date, he said, adding the 2016 model year SUV has already received 125 bookings.
The company had commenced pre-bookings for the 2016 model year Range Rover Evoque in October.
The Evoque is being launched in four variants — Pure (₹ 47.1 lakh), SE (₹52.9 lakh), HSE (₹57.7 lakh) and HSE Dynamic (₹63.2 lakh) — and comes with a range of new features. All prices are ex-showroom, pre-octroi in Mumbai.
Striking features The 2016 Evoque comes with a gesture tailgate function, which allows customers to open and close the boot by moving a foot beneath the rear bumper.
Further, customer configurable mood lighting, head up display (HUD), surround camera system, slim-line LED fog lamps and a new front bumper design are the other features.
The New Range Rover Evoque, which would be assembled in Pune, is available for sale across the company’s 22 retail outlets in the country, he added.
The new vehicle is equipped with a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that delivers 140 kW at 3,500 RPM with a maximum torque of 420 Nm at 1,750 RPM.
