L&T bags orders worth Rs 2,008 cr

L&T has secured orders worth Rs 2,008 crore, including two international orders in November and December, 2014.

In power transmission & distribution business, it has bagged orders worth Rs 1,058 crore. An international engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) order is from an Algerian transmission utility company for 220/60 kV EHV (extra high voltage) substation at Bougzoul.

On the domestic front, L&T has bagged an order from PowerGrid for supply and erection of transmission lines in Jammu and Kashmir.

The company has got an order from Bihar Grid Co for supply and erection of 132 kV and 220 kV double and single circuit transmission lines. It has also secured an order from Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd for rural electrification works.

This apart, additional orders, worth Rs 319 crore, are from ongoing projects. The buildings & factories division has received orders worth Rs 920 crore.

A major international order is for construction of a midfield airport terminal building and car park at Abu Dhabi.

L&T has also secured an order from a two-wheeler major for construction work at an upcoming manufacturing plant in Gujarat.

In the heavy civil infrastructure and water & renewable energy businesses, it has bagged orders worth Rs 30 crore.
