AM Naik, Group Executive and Chairman of Larsen & Toubro, has been conferred the Order of the Dannebrog as Knight First Class by Queen Margrethe of Denmark. The knighthood is royal acknowledgment of Naik’s role in fostering Indo-Danish ties in the fields of business, commerce and culture. A formal investiture ceremony will take place in March 2015, a statement from the Embassy of Denmark said. The Order of the Dannebrog is one of the world’s oldest Knight Orders, having been instituted in Denmark in 1671. Naik is also the Honorary Consul General of Denmark in Mumbai.
