Touted to be one of the world’s largest eyewear production facilities, the facility will come up at the Tukkuguda’s Non-Special Economic Zone (SEZ) General Park, near here.

Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu laid the foundation stone for the project on Thursday.

The project is expected to create 1,600 job opportunities. “The company is planning to export eyewear products to countries like Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, and the Gulf,”a senior official of the Industries Ministry said.

“The company will commence commercial production in two years. Full-scale operations will begin in four years,” he said in a statement on Thursday.

Lenskart signed an agreement with the Telangana government in December 2024 regarding the project.
