Swiss luxury watchmaker Omega on Thursday assumed its role as the Official Timekeeper for the London Olympics 2012 by organising an event here to wish luck to ace badminton player and Olympian, Ms Jwala Gutta.

Official Timekeeper

This is the 25th time the watchmaker is the Official Timekeeper for the Games. Omega's timekeeping and data handling team will draw on the experience gained at the 24 Olympic Games.

In 1948, the last time the Olympic Games were held in London, Omega had introduced the first photofinish camera ever used at an Olympic game, apart from the photoelectric cell and fully-automated timing system.
