After entering the luxury segment in India with the B-Class last year, Mercedes-Benz India on Thursday launched new B-Class diesel (B 180 CDI Style) priced at Rs 22.60 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai).

The B 180 CDI Style comes with a better fuel efficiency and combines the utility of a sports utility vehicle with the comfort of a sedan, the company said.

“The launch of the B-Class diesel is a continuation of Mercedes-Benz India’s product offers for this year. We have seen a substantial demand for our new generation cars like the B-Class petrol and the A-Class in India,” said Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

It is the first of Mercedes-Benz’s new generation cars, and has sporty design coupled with dual clutch transmission with paddle shift in combination with a multi-function steering wheel, which is normally found in high-end sports cars like the SLS AMG, he added.
