Taxi service aggregator Ola has made hatchbacks from TaxiForSure (TFS) available for direct booking from the Ola app, starting today in Delhi and Mumbai.
Customers can book TFS hatchbacks in the same way they book an Ola Auto, Mini, Sedan or Prime. This will be rolled out to other cities in a phased manner over the next few weeks.
In a statement, Pranay Jivrajka, COO, Ola, said: “As a platform, Ola believes in giving access to a wide range of personal transportation options from a single app. By bringing TFS hatchbacks onto the Ola app, we have unlocked complimentary value. We will continue to find more unique ways to create efficiencies between the two brands, to create a seamless experience for all our customers and drivers.”
Asked why TFS hatchbacks were available on the Ola app, which already offers hatchbacks with Ola Mini, Anand Subramanian, Director of Marketing Communications, Ola, said: “We want to offer our customers the brand promise of TFS which is, the most economical cabs at the lowest fare.
“With TFS hatchbacks we can offer customers the option to choose an economical base fare of ₹49, which is lower than the Ola Mini base fare of ₹80 in Bengaluru and ₹100 in Delhi. The Ola brand promise to customers is a large platform with the availability of a range of cab options at multiple price points.”
The booking can be only through the ‘Ride Now’ option in the Ola app. Once the ride is booked, they can track and see the movement of the cab to the pick-up location on the Ola app in real-time. Customers will also get information such as the cab and driver details on booking. They will be able to share a link over SMS with friends and family for them to track the location of their cab. All TFS-registered users, who book a TFS hatchback cab on the Ola app can track their booking on the TFS app as well. The TaxiForSure’s ‘Inform a Friend’ safety feature will also be available to TFS registered users.
All TaxiForSure rides booked through the Ola app will have to be paid for in cash only. Once the ride is completed, an automated invoice from TaxiForSure will be emailed to the customer. Standard TaxiForSure fares are applicable on all hatchback rides made through the Ola app. Meanwhile, TFS continues to be fully operational across all categories.
