CK Birla group company Orient Cement Ltd’s net profit more than doubled at ₹85 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2015, compared with ₹26 crore in the year-ago period. The revenue of the company, however, declined marginally at ₹394 crore (₹401 crore).
For the full year, revenue and net profit increased 8 per cent and 93 per cent at ₹1,547 crore and ₹194 crore, respectively, as per the results announced by the company on Friday. In an interaction with the BusinessLine , its MD and CEO said the increase in profit was driven by optimisation of operational costs and better market realisation.
