Page Industries' Q3 net up 29% on higher sales

Page Industries Ltd, a leading manufacturer of innerwear, leisurewear and sportswear, has reported a 29 per cent increase in net profit for the December quarter on higher sales.

The Bengaluru-based company, the exclusive licensee of Jockey International Inc and Speedo International Ltd, reported a net profit of Rs 44.70 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2014 against a net profit of Rs 34.63 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.

Sales for the December quarter were up 25 per cent at Rs 377.41 crore against corresponding last year's Rs 302.33 crore.

The board of directors of Page Industries has declared an interim dividend of Rs 18 per share on an equity share value of Rs 10 each. The date fixed for payment of dividend is on or before February 28, 2015, the company said in a note to the BSE.

Tracking the earnings announcement, shares of Page Industries were trading higher by Rs 72 or (0.6 per cent) at Rs 11747.45 in intra-day trade.
