Percept Live looking to raise ₹100 crore for expansion

Percept Live, the events and entertainment arm of Percept Ltd, has said it plans to scale up its live events properties to include Bollywood music and Tamil dance music.

The company also said it is looking to raise ₹100 crore from private equity players to take takes these properties into the international market and add newer genres.

“Both Bollywood music and Tamil dance music have immense potential. We are working to introduce Tamil Dance Music and are in talks with various partners. We want to take these to markets like Singapore, Malaysia, the US and the UK to tap not just the Indian diaspora but also a global audience,” Harindra Singh, Vice-Chairman and MD, Percept Ltd, told

Percept Ltd already has PE infusion from players such as Edelweiss, Everstone and Passport Capital.

Percept Live businesses include intellectual properties (IPs) created and owned by the Percept Group, including IPs in the live entertainment, sports, celebrity management, digital and media space.

Its IPs includes Sunburn, Fight Nights, BollyBoom, Lost Music Festival, Fan Football Championship, Champions of the World & Windsong Music Festival.

Asked if its revenue stream was sponsorship-led or ticketing, Singh said currently sponsorship and ticketing account for about 80 per cent of its revenue followed by F&B.

“We are looking for unique opportunities to tie up with brands to use our captive audiences for direct marketing,” Singh added.

Percept Live had clocked revenue of ₹130 crore in 2015. “We expect the revenue to touch ₹250 crore by next year.”
