As a part of the plan, Prabhat Dairy has signed a joint development agreement Denmark-based with DLG, a company into high-quality vitamin-mineral feeds. Under the agreement, two products have been developed in Denmark and shipped to India under a pilot project, the company said in a statement.

These products, one for ‘Milking Cow’ and another for ‘Dry Cow’, will be given to 150 selected farms and would be administered on 1,000 cows to improve their health conditions and to increase milk productivity as well as quality. This pilot phase will be for approximately four or six months.

Post the pilots , the company will proceed with the commercial launch.

Currently, cattle feed forms a major part of animal nutrition business in India. Prabhat Dairy is a supplier of cattle feed under the brand name ‘Annapurna’ to the farmer community and has been helping them select the right quality of feed to improve milk production and quality.

Prabhat Dairy is also exploring other opportunities for new ventures to strengthen its production chain and further build on their current strong association with the farmers.
