Renault launches Fluence in Vizag

Renault India will market its premium car Fluence aggressively in the Indian market and the company is also doubling its capacity at the Chennai plant from 2 lakh cars an year , according to Mr Sudhir Rao, Deputy Managing Director.

He was speaking to the press here on Wednesday afternoon after launching the Renault dealership and also the car - Fluence.

He said the company was going to invest Rs 4,000 crore on its Indian operations and it was also exporting cars and auto components to other countries.

He said Fluence would be able to capture a significant share of the luxury sedan market. “We will start with 14 dealers in the country, including three in AP, one each at Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Vizag. The number will go up to 40 by the year-end. We will have a range of five cars and 100 dealers by the end of 2012,” he said.

Fluence costs Rs 13 lakh for the diesel version and Rs 14.5 lakh for the petrol one. Mr Sushanth Tummala, Director, Renault Vizag, also spoke.
