Singareni Collieries provides 11,600 new jobs this fiscal, plans to induct 2000 more

Continuing its focus on expansion and improved productivity, Singareni Collieries Company Limited has provided employment to 11,600 youth this year so far and plans to induct 2000 more in a phased manner.

Through the recruitment process, Singareni provided employment for 5,101 and inducted 6500 more by organising Mega Job Mela jointly with private organisations during the last week.

In addition, the State-owned mining company provided training for 800 youth for police recruitment and for 1200 members for Army recruitment during last 3 months. With this, by end of this fiscal, according to the miner, 15,000 youth would get employment in the collieries and other areas.

N.Sridhar, CMD of SCCL stated, “The move to recruit youth comes in the backdrop of State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s directive of developing the State into “Bangaru (golden) Telangana.” He appealed to employees to continue with the same spirit in next two months and achieve annual target 600 lakh (60 million) tonnes.

After Sridhar assumed office as the CMD, about 7,000 job slots in the company were identified.

First time in its history, Singareni organised Mega Job Mela in about 10 areas where the company functions covering four districts during January 27 to February 1, 2016. The Mega Job Mela was conducted by involving more than 100 Hyderabad based private organisations.

Sridhar stated another 2000 jobs will be provided in future in the company and it is proposed to organise Job Melas once every three months for providing employment to youth in the coal belt area.

OUTPUT UP

Singareni produced 57 lakh tonnes (108 per cent) of coal during January 2016 as against the target 53 lakh tonnes during January, 2016.

Against the target of 450 lakh tonnes during 10 months ended January 2016 this fiscal, the company produced 490 lakh tonnes, registering 109 per cent output. The company produced 405 lakh tonnes in same period of last year.

The Adriyala Longwall project produced 2.11 lakh tonnes of coal against target of 2 lakh tonnes during January 2016. This is a record from the largest coal mining project in the country.
