Stanadyne Amalgamations Pvt Ltd will invest over ₹ 100 crore in its diesel fuel injection system factory near Chennai to make a new range of injection systems.
John Pinson, President & CTO, Stanadyne LLC, told media persons that the new range of fuel pumps developed in India will cater to the sub-50 HP engines in off-road equipment used in construction, agriculture and industrial sectors.
Based on 1,000 hours of operation of an average farm equipment, the new pump will save users about ₹ 15,000 a year in fuel cost, according to Pinson.
The savings will more than offset the “modest incremental cost” for the new pump, he said.
Stanadyne India’s sales in 2014 was about ₹ 170 crore. This is expected to double by 2017-18. Sanjay Chadda, Managing Director – India and Near East, Stanadyne Amalgamations, said the proposed investment over the next two years will take the production capacity of the factory to 250,000 pumps a year from 90,000 units.
