SunEdison to buy Imergy batteries

Global solar energy development company SunEdison said that it will purchase up to 1,000 vanadium flow batteries (over 100 megawatt hours) from energy storage solutions company Imergy Power Systems. The batteries will be used to store solar-generated electricity for SunEdison’s rural electrification and solar powered minigrid projects, the company’s statement said. It will also increase its equity investment in US-based Imergy.
