Suzuki Motorcycle India, a subsidiary of two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki Motor Corporation, unveiled the ‘New Access 125’ scooter and revamped Gixxer motorcycles on Wednesday at the 13th Auto Expo here.

While the flagship scooter has been present in the market since 2007, the company has gone for a full model change incorporating new features from the Suzuki stable.

The New Access 125, which will be available in India from April, is powered by Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP) technology, developed by the company from its MotoGP racing performance. “We are confident that this new offering will be welcomed by Indian customers,” said Masayoshi Ito, MD, Suzuki Motorcycle India.

The scooter boasts features such as the longest seat and longest footboard in its segment, chrome finished headlamp, neatly designed Speedo dial with digital speedometer, and Suzuki Easy Start system (one click start), among others. It will be available in five colours.

India is a key market for the company and it has great potential as the motorcycle culture is growing, said Toshihiro Suzuki, COO and President, Suzuki Motor Corporation. The company also showcased the Gixxer motorcycle, which now comes with a rear disc brake variant for better stability and control.

It also had on display the Gixxer SF which is now powered with Suzuki’s fuel injection technology, which monitors and adjusts the air-to-fuel ratio to maintain optimal combustion conditions leading to efficient fuel usage.
