Tata Power said its generation in 2012-13 at 34,682 million units (mu) was about 90 per cent higher than the 18,317-mu logged in the previous year.

The rise was largely due to the commissioning of 4,000 MW Mundra plant, which generated 12,401 mu and Maithon Power which contributed 3,362 mu.

Tata Power’s generation capacity is at 8,521 MW, comprising thermal (coal, gas and oil), hydroelectric power, renewable energy and waste heat recovery.

Anil Sardana, Managing Director, said: “Tata Power has transcended previous benchmarks by crossing 34,682 mu of generation power.”
