Tata Steel commissions coke over battery, by-product unit at Jamshedpur

Tata Steel said on Monday that it has commissioned a new 0.7 million tonnes per annum coke oven battery (No.10) and a by-product plant at Jamshedpur works. The battery operates with 88 ovens. The by-product unit will prouce coke oven gas (44,000 Nm3/Hr), coal tar (35,305 tonnes per annum) and pure sulphur (1,668 tonnes per annum).
