Toyota Kirloskar starts clearing sales tax dues to Karnataka

Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) said on Tuesday that it had begun clearing the sales tax dues to Karnataka.

“There is no requirement to pay the full amount of sales tax incentives availed other than an amount of ₹32 crore payable under the terms of the GO falling due within the next six months,” the company said in a release.

‘Obligations fulfilled’

“The company has fulfilled its obligations required by the GO, including the employment of Kannadigas. TKM is proud of its skilled workforce at the Bidadi plant which is one of the best Toyota plants globally. The company wishes to commend the strong support extended by the Government of Karnataka,” it added.

The State government had offered the company deferred CST payment option as an incentive for setting up the plant at Bidadi.
