TVS Motor is confident of gaining significant market share in motorcycles with the launch of new bikes targeting commuters and speed freaks.

The two-wheeler manufacturer launched a new TVS Victor in the commuter segment and a TVS Apache RTR 200 with racing genes.

Venu Srinivasan, Chairman, said the new launches will help the company grow its market share to 14 per in two-wheelers by the end of the current financial year and increase to 16 per cent in the coming year.

It has invested over ₹300 crore in developing both the models, which will be launched in February and rolled out in stages across the domestic markets.

Both are global products and will contribute to increasing the company’s market share significantly in their respective segments.

The 110cc TVS Victor rounds off the company’s commuter segment and is positioned as a family machine. It complements the TVS Sport in the budget segment and TVS Star City for the progressive executive.

The TVS Victor was first launched in 2002 and was the first product indigenously developed by the company. The new TVS Victor has evolved in style and performance with a three-valve Ecothrust Engine, electric start, four-speed power train and a mileage of 76 km a litre. It will offer a choice of drum brake version (₹49,490) and disc brake version (₹51,490).

The TVS Apache RTR 200 features an oil cooled combustion chamber with ram air assist. The five-speed machine churns out a top speed of 128 km an hour and capable of 0 to 60 km an hour in 3.9 seconds. It will offer an option of Pirelli tyres for racing performance.

The price starts at ₹88,990 and goes up to ₹1.15 lakh.
