TVS Motor unveils Jupiter

TVS Jupiter, a 110-cc scooter, launched today by TVS Motor Company.

The scooter targets the male rider, the fastest growing market segment in scooters, which the company addresses for the first time with this offering.

The male-rider accounts for one of four scooters sold in the domestic market, according to TVS Motor.

Addressing its debut, Venu Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director, said the Jupiter, like its namesake, is the biggest scooter in the segment in terms of performance.

The scooter, a product of in-house R&D, offers a maximum power of 8bhp, a fuel consumption of 67 km a litre of petrol and an electric start.

The scooter is being launched in the North India markets today and will be available in the South in time for Diwali, he said.
