Varanasi Venkata Venu Gopala Rao assumed charge as the new Director (Finance) at the Visakhapatnam steel plant - Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited on Thursday, according to a RINL press release.
P Madhusudan, the Chairman and Managing Director of the RINL, welcomed Venu Gopala Rao on his assumption as the new Director (Finance).
A chartered accountant by profession, Venu Gopala Rao served as the Director (Finance) of Hindustan Copper Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Mines, before joining the RINL. He also served as the Director (Finance) in Braithwaite & Co Ltd, a PSU under the Ministry of Railways. He worked in various capacities at Bhilai Steel Plant, SAIL from 1991 – 2010 during three decades.
Venu Gopal Rao obtained a degree in commerce from Andhra University and Masters in Ecology and Environment from Sikkim Manipal University of Health, Medical and Technical Sciences, Gangtok.
He stood first at the All-India National Competition for Young Managers conducted by All India Management Association, New Delhi, in 1996, adds the release.
