9 crore consumers join DBTL scheme

The Ministry for Petroleum and Natural Gas said on Friday that nine crore consumers have already joined the Direct Benefit Transfer for LPG scheme.

“This constitutes over 60 per cent of the LPG consumers in the country. So far, an amount of ₹2,262 crore has been transferred as subsidy and permanent advance in over 7 crore transactions to the LPG consumers,” the statement from the Ministry said.

The scheme was launched nationwide on January 1. It was partially launched on November 15, 2014 across 54 districts.
