The National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology-Thiruvananthapuram (NIIST), a constituent establishment under Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is celebrating CSIR Foundation Day here on Monday.
The Foundation Day lecture will be delivered by Prof D. Balasubramanian, Director of Research, L. V. Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, at 10.30 a.m. at the NIIST auditorium.
Dr Suresh Das, Director, NIIST, will preside over. As part of the CSIR day celebrations, visit of about 250 students and faculty members of science institutions around the city is being scheduled.
It will be an opportunity for them to update on modern technologies and to garner hands-on experience in using sophisticated research and analytical equipments.
