Intaglio 2011, the annual international B-school summit hosted by the Indian Institute of Management (Calcutta), is all set to begin tomorrow.
Coinciding with the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Asia's largest B-school, the IIM-C, “Perspectives at 50… Genesis of a new tomorrow” has been the current year's theme.
This year's Intaglio will also see the introduction of “Intaglio Cares – Sunehra Kal” where the institute will contribute to the cause of women empowerment by funding the education of some girl students.
The four-day long event, beginning January 6, will act as a platform for facilitating interaction between industry mandarins, academia and government.
Intaglio refers to a technique in art which is applied to different materials which have in common the image created by cutting carving or engraving into a flat surface.
This incidentally will be the 22{+n}{+d} edition of the IIM-C's flagship event. Intaglio began in 1989 and was then called the National Business School Meet.
Speakers in this four-day long annual fest include stalwarts such as Dr Pronab Sen, Principal Advisor, Planning Commission of India, Mr Rakeysh Omprash Mehra, filmmaker, and the Delhi Chief Minister, Ms Sheila Dikshit.
