Godrej plans international school in Ahmedabad

Godrej Properties said that it has tied up with Singapore-based Global Indian International School (GIIS) for setting up a world-class education facility at its township project in Ahmedabad.

Godrej will construct an independent building of about one lakh sq ft. to house the facility. Apart from the school building, it will also develop a playground, besides landscaping and other facilities.

13,000 apartments

Global Indian International School is part of an award winning network of international schools with a track record of providing world-class education to over 21,000 students in 21 schools across countries such as Singapore, the US, Malaysia, New Zealand, Japan, the UAE, Thailand and Vietnam.

The project, Godrej Garden City (GGC), falls within the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation limit. It will have over 13,000 apartments and villas.

Godrej Properties plans to create facilities for transport, education, health-care, recreation, hospitality, retail and banking there.

Master plan

The master plan of GGC has been created by architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM). It is also one of the two projects in India and among sixteen worldwide to be chosen as a partner by The Clinton Climate Initiative, Godrej said.
