S. Africa industry fair: Subsidy announced for participants

Micro, small, and medium enterprises interested in participating in SAITEX — Africa's big seven fair to be held in Johannesburg, during July 15-17 can get Government support.

The MSME-DI (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises-Development Institute), here has invited applications from small industries. It will provide subsidy in space rent and air fare up to a maximum of Rs 1.25 lakh, according to a press release. The enterprises producing products in the areas of electronics, electrical products, textiles, accessories and leather goods, building and construction machinery, hardware generators, compressors, etc, with an international quality certification will be supported. These are the focus areas of the international fair.

The international trade fair provides scope for networking, marketing and sales opportunities in export market for the MSMEs. The units could contact Mr A.R.C. Kumar at the MSME-DI through email

The Development Commissioner (MSME), New Delhi, is facilitating the participation through the India Trade Promotion Organisation.

The MSMEs registered as manufacturing units are eligible for the support. The subsidy to a maximum of Rs 1.25 lakh would be provided in the form of space rental and air fare.
