Charity auction: The West Bengal Governor, Mr M. K. Narayanan, steps into the shoes of an auctioneer for a tea auction in Kolkata on Monday. Organised by the Calcutta Tea Traders Association, the proceeds of the auction will go to an organisation that works for hearing-impaired children. J. Thomas & Company Private Ltd, the world’s oldest tea auctioneer, held the charity auction as part of the year-long celebration of its 150th year, concluding on December 27. — Sushanta Patronobish
