The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) will facilitate training and development of dairy development personnel from Uganda to assist the African nation in exploring the prospects of organising dairy cooperatives there.

A delegation led by Katureebe Koburungi Mary Bernadette, Chairperson, Dairy Development Authority (DDA), Ministry of Agriculture, Government of Uganda, visited NDDB, Anand, from July 28 to 31 with a view to promote dairying in Uganda and held discussions with Dr Amrita Patel, Chairperson, NDDB.

The delegation was apprised of the achievements of NDDB and its initiatives for dairy development in the country. Discussions were held on the innovations introduced by NDDB in animal breeding, health and nutrition which could contribute to increasing productivity. The delegation was briefed about NDDB’s training modules focusing on capacity building of milk producers.

The Ugandan delegation sought technical support from NDDB to set up processing capacity and training facilities. Training and development of dairy personnel from Uganda would provide human resources for the industry.
